There is an old adage that I heard when I was a kid. Remember “you are what you eat”? Science is catching up with some of the old wisdom. Researchers who studied a group of 5,900 older people found that those whose eating habits came closest to the Mediterranean diet did best on cognitive testing. This was also true for the MIND diet.
Both of these diets feature vegetables, nuts, berries, beans, whole grains, fish, poultry, olive oil and wine. They also limit the foods that we have written about that are so common on the Standard American Diet.
Think about it. It is food for thought!
