Does a Banana a Day Keep the Doctor Away?

May 7, 2018

I think that it is time to change that old refrain of an apple a day keeps the doctor away to a new one. Try a banana a day keeps you away from the doctor. Why make the change? The reason is that bananas are so healthy that if you eat one a day you may not need to see the doctor for an illness.

Of course what I am saying is stretching a point to make a point. Think of this, one medium sized banana has only about 105 calories and a low GI (glycemic index). Packed into that yellow ski is a food that is rich in vitamin B6, manganese, vitamin C, potassium, fiber, copper and biotin.

The banana is heart healthy because of its high potassium content. There is also about 3 grams of fiber in one banana, much of it is water soluble fiber. With all of these healthy ingredients a banana might help lower your blood pressure and settle your digestion

Look at the banana as a friend to accompany you on your road to better health.
