Obesity is Getting More Complicated

May 22, 2018

Is it a problem if you only put on 5 or 6 pounds? In there past we would have thought that this would not be a big deal, but we may need to look at modest weight gain differently.

A new study by Stanford University found that the entire body undergoes microbial, molecular and genetic changes for the worse when people gain even a modest amount of weight. When the weight is lost these systems return to their original state.

The conclusion is that weight gain is a systemic disease not just affecting your fat.

The implications of this are huge, but before you panic use common sense. Eat a healthy diet. Keep your weight controlled and wait for further research to clarify this report.
