Chocolate Is Cooling Off

The market for traditional candy bars and chocolate is slowing down because tastes are changing. Many health conscious consumers such as those of you who are readers of this blog are moving away from traditional candy bars that have no nutritional value. Instead they are looking for healthier alternatives.


Manufacturers are coming out with new flavors and colors as well as formulas that cut down on sugar. They are also trying gimmicks such as hemp infused chocolate and grass bars. Some manufacturers are diversifying away from candy. Hershey Co. is moving into popcorn and potato chips. Nestle has sold its U.S. confectionary unit to focus on snacks and water.
